Workout + outdoors + FUN = ROWING! Get a taste of rowing in three sessions. Join us for a three-part introduction to this sport you'll wish you'd tried years ago!
Discover Rowing is comprised of these three sessions:
- Tuesday, March 12, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Q&A, class expectations, intro to the boatyard. No rowing tonight.
- Thursday, March 14, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Rowing on the Ergometer! Technique & workout on the rowing machine.
- Saturday, March 16, 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Rowing on the water!
Rowing provides a full-body workout, with aspects of cardio, strength, and endurance training, and you can do it with a boatful of your friends and teammates, or you can row solo. You may never have thought of trying rowing before now; but once you do, you'll wonder why you hadn't thought of it before.
(Please note that participants should have some level of physical fitness before attempting rowing. Activities will involve lifting heavy objects - boats - walking, and squatting. If you are not currently engaged in regular exercise you may want to consider doing so before beginning rowing.)
