Once you try it, you'll be hooked!
In three sessions with Rio you will get learn the basics of this technical and physically-challenging sport. Rowing will satisfy your Type-A-personality urges while demanding every ounce of endurance and strength you’d expect from a workout in the gym. Picture weight training, cardio, and yoga all wrapped into one – on the water and outdoors – and you’ve got rowing!
As an added bonus, you will also learn the basics of indoor rowing on the ergometer, for those days when you do go to the gym.
Discover Rowing is comprised of three, two-hour sessions:
- Tuesday, October 10 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, October 12, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Each of the sessions covers different aspects of the sport, so you won't want to miss any. Once you register, you will receive an email with details on where to go, what to wear, etc.
- Saturday, October 14, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
(Please note that participants should have some level of physical fitness before attempting rowing. Activities will involve lifting heavy objects (boats,) walking, and squatting. If you are not currently engaged in regular exercise you may want to consider doing so before beginning rowing.)
